1 The Story
Past the textbook indicators
Constance "Connie" Brown spent years as an S&P 500 institutional trader before founding Aerodynamic Investments and writing some of the most advanced books in technical analysis.
Brown founded Aerodynamic Investments Inc. in 1996 and authored Technical Analysis for the Trading Professional, among other works. She is known for showing that RSI does not travel the full 0–100 range in trending markets (it holds bullish and bearish sub-ranges), and for her Composite Index — an oscillator built to catch RSI divergence failures.1
2 The Big Idea
What they gave the markets
Indicators behave differently in trends — and divergence can fail.
Brown demonstrated that RSI ranges shift with the trend and built the Composite Index to flag when expected divergences don't appear.1
